People sometimes wonder how long they’re supposed to grieve an animal.
There is no set time.
The relationship mattered for however long it mattered. Grief doesn’t suddenly expire because six months or five years have passed.
It may change.
It may become easier to carry.
But if something brings that grief back years later, that doesn’t mean you’ve done grief wrong.
