Sometimes a veterinarian might say, “There’s nothing more medically we can do, so keep them comfortable until it’s time.”
And then you go home thinking, “Okay, but what does that mean?”
It might mean making accommodations, like changing where their food or water is located, helping with mobility, changing their routine, watching for signs of pain or distress, or figuring out what still brings them enjoyment.
That’s part of the gap I help fill.
